Judgemental

Judgemental is an online slot developed by NetEnt. The game suits players who enjoy glamorous settings. It also includes a range of features that work to improve winning chances and make sessions more rewarding.

Gameplay Features and Bonuses

Judgemental plays on a 5×4 grid with up to 1,024 paylines. The game runs an RTP of 96.20% and is classified as high volatility.

Judges Feature: A Judge sits at the top of each reel, holding either a multiplier of x2, x3, x4, x5, x6, x8, x9, x10, x50, or x100, or a Re-Spin sign. A Judge! symbol activates the Judge on the same reel, while a Super Judge! symbol activates all of them. When more than 1 active Judge carries a multiplier, the values are added together to form a global multiplier. All wins are then multiplied by that global multiplier and added to the total win.

Re-Spins: Re-Spins are awarded when a Judge! symbol lands on a reel whose Judge carries a Re-Spin sign. The Judge that triggers Re-Spins displays a multiplier and holds it until the feature ends. The symbol appearing most often on the reels then becomes sticky, and when 2 or more symbols tie on count, the higher-value symbol becomes sticky. Bonus symbols are sticky, while Judge! and Bribe symbols are not.

If another Judge! symbol lands during Re-Spins on a reel with an already active Judge, a Judge to either the left or the right is randomly activated instead. When only 1 of those neighboring Judges is inactive, that one is activated. When both are already active, no Judge is activated. Only the multipliers held while a Judge is active are applied.

Each additional Judge! symbol that lands during Re-Spins activates the Judge above that reel, and its multiplier remains active until the feature ends. At the close of Re-Spins, the multipliers of all active Judges are added together and applied to the final win. Re-Spins end once no new symbols land on the reel.

Bribe Feature: A Bribe symbol can land only on a reel with an active Judge carrying a multiplier. On landing, it shows a value of 1, 2, or 3, which is added to the value the Judge already holds. The Bribe feature can appear during Sticky Re-Spins, Free Spins, and Super Free Spins.

Applause Feature: The Applause feature activates at random and places 1 or more Wild symbols on any reel, filling from the bottom row upward. When a reel is filled entirely with Wild symbols, the Judge above it is activated.

Tomato Feature: During the Tomato feature, a random number of Tomato symbols land on the grid. Each Tomato slides down from its landing position to the bottom row, replacing every symbol along the way with a random number of one of the same high-win symbols. A Tomato can replace up to 3 symbols for each position it passes through. Additional Bonus or Judge! symbols can appear at the bottom of the splatter trail.

Free Spins and Super Free Spins: Landing 3 Bonus symbols awards 8 Free Spins, while 2 Bonus symbols together with 1 Super Bonus symbol award 8 Super Free Spins. Judges activated in the base game when Free Spins are awarded, or activated during Free Spins by Judge! or Super Judge! symbols, stay active until the round ends. In Super Free Spins, every Judge is active from the start.

Judges display different award signs on each spin. During Free Spins, they can show a 1, 2, or 3 sign that awards that number of additional Free Spins. After every spin in both Free Spins and Super Free Spins, the multipliers of all active Judges are added together and applied to that spin's win.

VIP Pass: Landing 2 Bonus symbols on the reels activates the VIP Pass, after which the Judges may award Free Spins or Super Free Spins. When 1 Bonus symbol and 1 Super Bonus symbol land, the Judges may award an invitation to Super Free Spins.

Elevate Feature: Players can purchase direct entry into the game's features through the following options:

• Bonus Hunt: Increases the chance of activating Free Spins for 2x the bet.
• Judge: Guarantees the activation of 1 Judge, 3 Judges, or 1 Super Judge for 3x, 10x, or 50x the bet, respectively.
• Crowd Feature Pack: Activates the Tomato or Applause feature on the next spin for 25x the bet.
• Free Spins: Direct feature access for 100x the bet.
• Super Free Spins: Direct feature access for 500x the bet.

Design and Soundtrack

Judgemental places players in a glamorous setting. The background shows a talent show stage lit by red and gold lights, with a crowd waiting to see the contestants. Five judges sit above the grid, ready to watch the acts and deliver their verdicts. In addition, the grid is filled with 10-A figures alongside the performers themselves: a puppetmaster, a dancer, a fire player, a card magician, and a singer. A matching soundtrack complements the visual design.

Players looking for similar settings and gameplay features can also try Eternal Diamonds and Heartbreakers, both developed by Pragmatic Play.

The Bottom Line

Judgemental builds its gameplay around the five Judges above the reels, each holding a multiplier between x2 and x100 or a Re-Spin sign. Judge! and Super Judge! symbols switch them on, and active multipliers add together into a global figure applied to every win. Bribe symbols push those values higher, while Applause and Tomato reshape the grid outright. With 8 spins in both bonus rounds, seven Elevate purchase options, and 96.20% RTP at high volatility, the game rewards patience and delivers its best results when several Judges are active at once.
