Sleeping Dragon Ultra Dark

Pragmatic Play returns to its dragon-themed series with Sleeping Dragon Ultra Dark, a darker follow-up that builds on the original formula. Familiar mechanics return alongside fresh additions, such as the Money Egg feature and new bonus purchase options. The result is a video slot that aims to offer more variety without drifting far from its predecessor.

Gameplay Features and Bonuses

Sleeping Dragon Ultra Dark takes place on a 5×3 grid with 10 paylines. The slot has high volatility and an RTP of 96.50%, which suits players who prefer larger but less frequent payouts. Bets start at €0.10 and climb to €240 per spin. The top reward reaches 20,000x the stake.

Wild Symbol: The Wild substitutes for every regular pay symbol. It cannot replace the Scatter or Money symbols.

Scatter Symbol: The Scatter may land on any reel. 3, 4, or 5 Scatters award 8, 12, or 50 Free Spins, respectively.

Money Symbol: Money symbols may appear on every reel and carry one of several reward values.

• Standard amounts range from 1x to 100x the total bet.
• They may also award the Mini (20x), Major (200x), or Dragon (400x) awards.

Money Egg Symbol: This figure may land on any reel. It reveals a random Money symbol value once the Respin Bonus ends. During the bonus, it fills one empty position on the bonus grid after the final Respin. If every position on the grid contains a Money symbol, the Dragon prize, worth 400x the total bet, joins the final payout.

Respin Bonus: 6 or more Money icons anywhere on the reels trigger the Respin Bonus. Random Money symbols may also drop from above during the base game and start the feature if enough land on the reels.

Only Money symbols and empty positions remain on the screen once the bonus begins. The round starts with 3 Respins. Every new Money figure resets the counter to 3. The feature ends after no Respins remain or every position on the grid contains a Money symbol.

All visible Money symbol values add together for the final reward. A filled grid also awards an extra 7,000x the total bet. If 15 Money symbols land during a single base game spin, their combined value plus the Mega reward of 7,000x the total bet is paid immediately.

Free Spins: During the feature, reels 2, 3, and 4 merge into one giant reel symbol. A giant Scatter awards 3 extra spins. A giant Money symbol starts the Respin Bonus and counts as a single symbol. Giant Money symbols may reveal values from 5x to 100x, along with the Mini (20x), Minor (100x), or Major (200x) prizes.

If a Free Spin ends without a win, the giant symbol has a random chance to change into either a Money symbol or a Wild.

Buy Bonus: Four bonus purchase options are available:

• Respin Bonus: 50x the total bet.
• Free Spins: 50x the total bet and 3 guaranteed Scatter symbols on the trigger spin.
• Super Respin Bonus: 100x the total bet. This version unlocks higher Money values that range from 100x to 1,000x during the feature.
• Ultra Respin Bonus: 1,000x the total bet. This version offers the highest Money values, from 100x up to 10,000x.

Design and Soundtrack

Sleeping Dragon Ultra Dark uses a darker medieval setting. The reels sit inside a weathered stone frame beneath a massive black dragon asleep on a mountain of gold. Ivy-covered pillars, stained-glass windows, and green mist create the feel of a forgotten castle hall. Royal crowns, shields, a princess, and enchanted weapons join the traditional card ranks, and the polished artwork gives every symbol a crisp look. A dramatic orchestral soundtrack, paired with subtle ambient effects, suits the theme and adds tension as the action unfolds.

Players who enjoy dragon-themed slots may also want to try Dragonfate's Favor from Play'n GO or Red Dragon Sails from Yggdrasil Gaming.

The Bottom Line

Sleeping Dragon Ultra Dark stays close to the original formula but adds enough to feel more rewarding. The Money Egg gives the Respin Bonus another chance to deliver larger awards, the expanded Buy Bonus menu offers several ways to access the main features, and the 20,000x maximum win raises the game's ceiling. The gameplay itself does not introduce many fresh ideas, yet players who enjoy Hold and Win mechanics, jackpot prizes, and several bonus purchase options will likely find plenty to like.
