Thunder vs Underworld

Thunder vs Underworld is an online slot developed by Pragmatic Play, featuring an impressively high RTP of up to 98.04%. This game stands out with its unique and rewarding features, designed to ensure potentially lucrative gaming sessions. Furthermore, the availability of two distinct themes aligned with the game’s modes adds a layer of diversity, enhancing player engagement significantly.

Gameplay features and bonuses

Thunder vs Underworld is an online slot set on a 5×5 grid. This game offers two distinct modes, each with unique gameplay statistics. In the first mode, the RTP is 98.04% with high volatility, while in the second mode, the RTP slightly decreases to 98.00% with very high volatility. Additionally, both modes feature 15 payline combinations.

Game Modes – The game offers two selectable profiles: Thunder Mode and Underworld Mode. Each mode alters the game's appearance to align with its theme.

• Thunder Mode: In this setting, players enjoy a higher probability of triggering the Free Spins feature, though the average winnings from these rounds tend to be lower.
• Underworld Mode: Conversely, this mode presents a lower frequency of Free Spins activation, but the potential payouts from these rounds are significantly higher.

Expanding Wilds with Multipliers – These symbols can appear on any reel. If a win is possible after their appearance in the base game or Free Spins, they expand to cover the entire reel vertically and are assigned a random multiplier. The potential multipliers range from 2x up to 100x, including values such as 3x, 4x, 5x, 6x, 7x, 8x, 9x, 10x, 20x, 25x, and 50x.

Each multiplier enhances all winning combinations it contributes to. Moreover, if more than one Wild is part of the same winning combination, their multipliers are cumulative, significantly increasing the potential payout.

Free Spins – Activating this feature requires landing 3 Scatter symbols, which awards players 10 Free Spins. During these rounds, any Expanding Wild that appears will expand, receive a random multiplier identical to those available in the base game, and remain in place for the duration of the Free Spins. This feature cannot be retriggered.

Buy Free Spins – Players can opt to instantly trigger the Free Spins round from the base game through a purchase feature. In Thunder mode, the available buy options are:

• A standard Free Spins feature for a cost of 75x the total bet.
• A special Free Spins feature for 300x the total bet, guaranteeing an Expanding Wild with a random multiplier in a random position on the first spin.

In Underworld mode, the buy options include:

• A standard Free Spins feature for 150x the total bet.
• A special Free Spins feature, also for 300x the total bet, ensuring an Expanding Wild hits with a random multiplier in a random position on the initial Free Spin.

Design and Soundtrack

Thunder vs Underworld is an online slot that offers players a choice between two distinct settings, each aligned with one of the game's modes. The first backdrop, Thunder, features an ancient temple engulfed in vibrant blue lightning. In contrast, the Underworld setting displays a fiery gate, enhancing the game's mythical theme.

Accompanying these backdrops are thematic symbols: the 10-A figures are common to both settings, while thematic items like cups, helmets, and eagles enrich the scene. Each setting also introduces unique symbols: lions and a Thunder god in the Thunder setting and snakes and an Underworld god in the other. This immersive theme is further enriched by a fitting soundtrack that elevates the overall gaming experience.

For players seeking similar thematic experiences, Zeus vs Hades – Gods of War by Pragmatic Play and 2 Gods Zeus vs Thor by 4ThePlayer are excellent alternatives. These games offer comparable mythological themes and engaging gameplay, providing ample opportunities for immersive sessions.

The Bottom Line

Thunder vs Underworld excels with its dual-mode functionality, offering players a dynamic choice between Thunder and Underworld themes, each with tailored symbols and backdrops. The game's high RTP and diverse betting options through the Buy Free Spins feature cater to both casual and serious players. Key highlights include Expanding Wilds with substantial multipliers and the possibility of securing lucrative payouts in Free Spins rounds. This slot not only promises high volatility challenges but also ensures a visually stimulating experience with every spin.
