Klowns

Klowns is an online slot developed by Hacksaw Gaming, set in a gaming environment dominated by two sinister clowns, making it a perfect choice for fans of eerie themes. Additionally, this game offers a range of unique features designed to enhance gameplay and potentially increase winning opportunities for players.

Gameplay features and bonuses

Klowns is an online slot game that unfolds on a 6-reel, 5-row grid. The game features an RTP of 96.25% and combines medium volatility with a Scatter Pays system. To secure a win, players must land at least 8 matching symbols anywhere on the grid.

Klown Multiplier – All wins are collected in the Total Win Bar adjacent to the gaming area. Any activated Klown Multiplier is added to this bar at the end of a spin, with the total win awarded thereafter.

These multipliers activate following any winning spin, ranging from x2 to x500, enhancing the multiplier currently displayed in the Total Win Bar. Additionally, multiplying Klown Multipliers, varying from x2 to x20, scale up the existing multiplier.

Needle Boxes – These activate upon landing and after wins have been awarded. They trigger a grid clear, removing symbols based on the type of Needle Box. Low Symbol Needle Boxes eliminate lower value symbols, granting 0.1x the bet per removed symbol, while High Symbol Needle Boxes target higher value symbols, offering 0.5x the bet for each.

Lester’s Cash Carousel – Triggered by landing 3 FS Scatters, this feature awards 10 Free Spins. It retains the base game mechanics but increases the likelihood of higher multipliers.

During this round, all active multipliers accumulated in the Total Win Bar are also stored in a Bounty Balloon outside the grid.

The multiplier in the Balloon grows until an Epic Needle Box pops it, transferring the accumulated multiplier to the Total Win Bar, whereupon the balloon resets.

Jester’s Jackpot – Landing 4 FS Scatter symbols in the base game triggers this feature, awarding 10 Free Spins with mechanics similar to Lester’s Cash Carousel. However, when the Bounty Balloon is popped, it respawns with the previous multiplier rather than resetting. The feature can be retriggered by landing additional FS symbols.

Bonus Buy – Players can directly access the game’s rewarding features from the base game for a price. Options include:

• Bonus Hunt Feature Spins: For 3x the bet, each spin is 5x more likely to trigger Free Spins.
• Laughing Loot Feature Spins: For 50x the bet, each spin guarantees a Klown Multiplier and a Needle Box. Epic Needle
• Boxes may appear, but FS Scatter symbols are excluded.
• Direct Feature Access: 70x the bet for Lester's Cash Carousel and 200x the bet for Jester's Jackpot.

Design and Soundtrack

Klowns transports players to a spine-chilling gaming environment. The backdrop is starkly divided: on the left, a dark blue background showcases a clown with green and purple neon accents, while the right features a dark red backdrop highlighted by a clown with vivid red details.

In addition, the game grid is filled with thematic symbols, including 10-A figures styled as red balloons, along with other neon-colored balloons shaped like stars, flowers, and hearts. This eerie atmosphere is enhanced by a soundtrack that perfectly complements the spooky setting.

For players drawn to such atmospheric games with similar mechanics, 3 Clown Monty 2 by Play'N GO and Halloween by Microgaming are excellent alternatives worth exploring.

The Bottom Line

Klowns is an online slot that offers a variety of rewarding features. The inclusion of Klown Multipliers, Needle Boxes, and distinct Free Spin modes, Lester’s Cash Carousel and Jester’s Jackpot, significantly enriches gameplay. Players can also utilise the Bonus Buy option to instantly access these exciting features, enhancing their chances for larger wins.
