Tropicool 3

Dive into the unique and frosty paradise of Tropicool 3, a captivating slot game developed by ELK Studios. This game combines an unusual mix of tropical luxury and icy landscapes set against a backdrop reminiscent of Las Vegas. With its distinctive blend of symbols, including fruits encased in ice and exotic birds adorned with Egyptian regalia, Tropicool 3 offers a refreshing twist on traditional slot aesthetics.

Gameplay features and bonuses

Tropicool 3 offers a 6-reel, 6-row slot experience with up to 46,656 winning combinations. This slot has medium-to-high volatility and a theoretical RTP of 94.0%

Wild Symbols and Locked Wilds: Central to the game are the Wild symbols, which can substitute for any paying symbol. Notably, a combination consisting solely of Wild symbols yields a payout equivalent to the highest-paying symbol. The Locked Wild is a special Wild that remains active for three consecutive wins before being removed.

Cool Reel: Above the main grid lies the Cool Reel, an innovative feature adding three rows filled with special symbols, bonus symbols, and blanks. Active feature symbols from the Cool Reel drop into the main grid to trigger their respective features.

Feature Symbols:

• Multiplier: Adding multipliers from x1 to x25 when they descend from the Cool Reel.
• Row Swap: Transforms an entire row into a single symbol, increasing the chance of a matching combination.
• Mystery: Reveals the same pay symbol or a Wild, potentially initiating new wins as part of the avalanche.

Avalanche: Following each win, the grid clears the winning symbols (excluding active Locked Wilds), allowing the above symbols to cascade down. This process continues, with symbols from the Cool Reel also descending until no further wins are possible.

Elmo’s Revenge: A unique game element where the Elmo symbol’s advancement to the leftmost column triggers a full Cool Reel drop into the main grid. If the Elmo symbol lands at the bottom of columns 2 to 6, it repositions one step left.

Bonus Game: The occurrence of three or more Bonus symbols activates the free drops bonus game, with the number of free drops increasing with more symbols. During this mode, the Cool Reel is refreshed with new features, and Locked Wilds remain in place.

Super Bonus: Triggered by the simultaneous appearance of three Bonus symbols and an Elmo symbol, this round enhances the standard bonus by maintaining the Elmo symbol’s presence throughout the free drops.

X-Iter: This menu offers enhanced gameplay options for a cost:

• Bonus Hunt (x3 the bet): Increases the likelihood of initiating the bonus game.
• 3 Locked Wilds (x25 the bet): Starts the game with three Locked Wilds.
• Elmo’s Revenge (x50 the bet): Ensures the appearance of an Elmo symbol.
• Bonus (x100 the bet): Direct access to the bonus game.
• Super Bonus (x500 the bet) Direct access to the bonus game with a guaranteed Elmo symbol.

Design and Soundtrack

Tropicool 3 presents a unique setting that combines a Vegas-like backdrop with tropical lushness and an unexpected snowy overlay, creating a striking visual contrast. The game's forefront is adorned with golden statues of birds in classic Egyptian attire surrounding the reels, which house a vibrant array of brightly coloured orbs and symbols. Lower-value symbols are fruits encased in ice, while higher-value ones include a lizard, a snake, a scarab, and the two ornate birds.

For those intrigued by the Egyptian aesthetic, Tomb of Gold by Play'N GO might be appealing, while Everest by Four Leaf Gaming caters to players who prefer the chilly aspect of the game's environment.

The Bottom Line

Tropicool 3 by ELK Studios offers an engaging blend of features with its expansive ways to win and unique Cool Reel system, providing a fresh twist on slot mechanics. Despite its medium-high volatility and an RTP of 94%, the game balances the challenge with rewarding gameplay, particularly through its varied symbols and bonus opportunities. It's an intriguing choice for players looking for something beyond the conventional, though it may not suit every preference.
