Wild Skullz

Nothing hits quite like a ripping guitar riff, and Wild Skullz delivers that same surge of energy. This online slot from Pragmatic Play goes heavy on sight and sound, with blazing stage visuals and a loud, driving soundtrack. The Expanded Wild feature carries multipliers higher and higher, which sets the stage for a play session that feels closer to a hard rock concert than a regular quiet spin.

Gameplay features and bonuses

Wild Skullz runs on a standard 5×3 reel setup and uses a 243-ways-to-win system. The highest payout reaches 10,000x the stake with betting options that range from €0,20 to €240,00 per spin. The RTP is set at 96.44% and works alongside a high volatility profile, which points toward less frequent but larger payouts.

• Scatter Symbol – 3 Scatter symbols activate the Free Spins feature.
• Wild Symbol – Wilds replace all regular symbols, excluding the Scatter.

Expanded Wild Symbols

Expanded Wilds substitute for all symbols except the Scatter and occupy a single reel position when they appear. In the base game, these symbols can land on reels 2 through 5. Each Expanded Wild carries a randomly assigned multiplier that ranges from 2x up to 512x. The multiplier applies to the total payout of a win when part of a winning combination. Only 1 Expanded Wild can appear on any given spin.

Free Spins Feature

The Free Spins round starts after 3 Scatter symbols land. On the first Free Spin, an Expanded Wild appears on reel 5, then shifts 1 reel to the left on each subsequent spin. During this round, Scatter symbols may only land on reel 5. In case a Scatter appears, the Expanded Wild resets its position back to reel 5.

The Expanded Wild begins without a multiplier, then increases to 2x after contributing to a win, and doubles each time it participates in another winning spin. The feature ends once the Expanded Wild reaches reel 1 and no Scatter lands on reel 5.

Special Bets

Two optional bet modifiers are available.

• Ante Bet uses a 100x multiplier and increases the likelihood of triggering Free Spins by 10x.
• Super Spin applies a 200x bet multiplier and guarantees at least 1 Expanded Wild on every spin, though Free Spins cannot trigger in this mode.

Buy Free Spins

Direct access to the round can be purchased from the base game.

• A cost of 100x the total bet triggers standard Free Spins.
• A cost of 600x the total bet unlocks Super Free Spins, where the Expanded Wild starts with a 32x multiplier.

Design and Soundtrack

Wild Skullz sounds like the name of a rock band, which fits neatly with the visual direction the game takes. The action unfolds on a concert stage, where blazing flames, large screens, and sweeping neon light beams dominate the background. A crowd is visible below the reels, moving in rhythm with the soundtrack that reinforces the setting.

The grid sits inside a heavy metal frame decorated with skulls, chains, and burning torches, with dark reel tiles that hold classic 10-A card figures in worn, rusty tones with chained designs, alongside symbols such as drums, guitars, synthesizers, and microphones shown in slightly brighter shades. Different band members appear beside the reels throughout play, each dressed in spiked leather, with a selection of aggressive masks and performing on a different instrument.

Players who enjoy rock-themed slots may also want to try Rock Star Santa MultiMax from Yggdrasil Gaming and Megaways of Rock by Blueprint Gaming, as these titles lean into a similar music-driven presentation.

The Bottom Line

Wild Skullz builds its gameplay around the Expanded Wild, which drives payouts through rising multipliers and steady reel movement. The multiplier can grow through repeated wins, gaining extra punch during Free Spins, where Scatter resets help keep the feature running longer. Only 1 Expanded Wild can appear at a time, yet its ability to climb to high values keeps the action tense. Loud stage visuals, flames, and animated band members amplify the action, all wrapped in a ways-based format that can reach up to a significant win of 10,000x the stake.
