Bao Shi

Bao Shi is an online slot developed by Play’N GO. The game is designed for players who enjoy gaming environments inspired by Chinese culture. In addition, it includes a set of features intended to improve winning potential and create a more enjoyable experience.

Gameplay features and bonuses

Bao Shi is played on a 5-reel, 4-row grid layout. The slot has a 96.2% RTP, and it pairs high volatility with 1,024 paylines.

Lioras Blessings: Positioned above the reels, Lioras collects any Drum symbols that land during spins. Each time a Drum is collected, Lioras Blessings may activate at random, awarding 2 or 3 Gold Coins. These Coins never appear on spaces where Scatters, Drums, or Golden Lioras symbols have already landed.

In the base game, Gold Coins can display an x2 or x3 multiplier. All revealed multipliers are added together and applied to every win in that spin. Additionally, all Lioras symbols on the reels transform into Golden Lioras symbols, increasing prize values.

Free Spins: Landing 3, 4, or 5 Scatter symbols awards 8, 12, or 15 Free Spins, respectively. During this feature, every Liora symbol is upgraded to a Golden Lioras symbol. Lioras Blessings can also be triggered at random, awarding between 3 and 5 Gold Coins, excluding Scatters, Drums, or Golden Lioras positions.

In this feature, Coins can reveal multipliers of x2, x3, x4, or x5, which are added together before being applied to all wins. Moreover, landing extra Scatters during the bonus will add 1 Free Spin each, with the feature capable of reaching up to 100 Free Spins in total.

Design and Soundtrack

Bao Shi places players in a setting inspired by Chinese culture. The game unfolds against the backdrop of a temple at night, slightly illuminated by flashes of lightning, with thick fog rolling across the ground. In addition, the reels feature a mix of symbols, including standard 10–A figures alongside thematic ones such as lanterns, gold coins, goldfish, sycees, and symbols representing Lioras. A matching soundtrack also plays throughout, complementing the overall atmosphere.

For those interested in similar themes and gameplay, titles like Triple Pot Gold and Chests of Cai Shen from Pragmatic Play provide great alternatives.

The Bottom Line

Bao Shi focuses its gameplay around features like Lioras Blessings and a Free Spins bonus. The base game benefits from random Gold Coin multipliers and symbol upgrades, while the bonus round increases the potential with higher multipliers and more frequent upgrades. Additionally, with up to 100 Free Spins available, the slot offers plenty of opportunities for new wins.
