Celestial Buffalo

Celestial Buffalo is an online video slot by Relax Gaming that combines several mechanics designed to allow multiple wins within a single spin, aiming to increase win potential and keep gameplay active and rewarding.

Gameplay features and bonuses

Celestial Buffalo runs on a 6×4 grid that expands during the final progression stage and the Free Spins round by adding an additional row at the bottom. The game is set to high volatility and offers an RTP of 96.1%. Wins are calculated across 4,096 fixed paylines and allow payouts to build toward a maximum win of up to 10,000x the stake.

Symbol Collection Feature: The feature runs on a 5-stage progression system tied to collecting symbols that form part of winning combinations. Progress carries over between stages and does not reset, so collected symbols remain counted as the game moves forward.

• Stage 1 requires 30 winning symbols to be activated and increases the presence of stacked symbols.
• Stage 2 unlocks with 60 winning symbols and adds Countdown Wilds alongside stacked symbols.
• Stage 3 activates with 100 winning symbols, and introduces the Sure Win feature in addition to stacked symbols and Countdown Wilds.
• Stage 4 opens after 150 winning symbols, adding a Respin mechanic to the existing feature set.
• Stage 5 completes the progression with 200 winning symbols collected. Play shifts to an expanded 6×5 area, keeps all previously unlocked features, and allows Scatter symbols to land on all reels.

Countdown Wilds: Countdown Wilds appear with a value between 1 and 4, which shows how many winning rounds they can take part in before disappearing. Each time a win with that Wild is formed, the counter decreases by 1. These Wilds replace all regular symbols and remain active until their count runs out. After that, they disappear.

Sure Win Feature: This mechanic activates when a spin produces no winning result. There is a chance the symbols on the reels will shift positions, which rearranges the layout to create a valid win instead of ending the spin empty.

Respin Feature: The Respin feature activates when a special Respin Wild forms part of a winning combination. Symbols included in the win stay locked in position, while all remaining spots are cleared and refilled with new symbols.

Respins continue as long as new winning symbols appear or until the grid fills completely. A multiplier starts at 1x and increases by one with each Respin. When the feature ends, the final multiplier is applied to the total win collected during the sequence.

Free Spins Feature: Free Spins become available during stage 5 when Scatter symbols land anywhere on the reels. 4 Scatters trigger 8 Free Spins, 5 award 10, and 6 grant 15. The feature runs on an expanded 6×5 grid, matching the final progression stage.

A multiplier ladder applies throughout the round, which starts at 2x and advances through 3x, 4x, 5x, and 6x. Countdown Wilds, Sure Win, and the Respin feature can all activate during Free Spins and follow the same mechanics as in regular play.

Respin results directly affect the ladder. The Respin multiplier is added to the active Free Spin multiplier and applied to the Respin win. After the sequence ends, the ladder increases by the same multiplier, 3 additional Free Spins are awarded, and play continues. Once Free Spins finish, the game resumes from a randomly selected stage.

Buy Feature: The Buy Feature allows direct access to the Free Spins round for a cost of 60x the current stake. Activating this option guarantees that at least 4 Scatter symbols land on the reels, immediately triggering entry into the Free Spins feature.

Enhanced Bet: This option becomes available only after stage 5 has been unlocked. It raises the current stake by 50% and increases the probability of triggering the Free Spins feature during play.

Design and Soundtrack

Celestial Buffalo uses a desert canyon backdrop framed by stone pillars and bone totems. The base game relies on warm sand shades, light blues, and sharp symbol frames that keep the grid tight and visually dense. During Free Spins, the grid extends upward, and the scene shifts to a nighttime version of the same desert, with burning torches that surround the reels. Animal symbols feature bold colors and carved detailing and are accompanied by classic A, K, Q, J figures. Additional support to the visuals comes from the soundtrack.

The Bottom Line

Celestial Buffalo builds its gameplay around a structured progression system that steadily unlocks additional mechanics as play advances. Symbol collection carries over between stages, which gradually introduces Countdown Wilds, Sure Win adjustments, Respins, and an expanded grid. The final stage ties everything together with Free Spins that combine multiplier ladders, Respin interactions, and added spin rewards. Optional features such as the Buy Feature and Enhanced Bet offer faster access to bonus rounds, and reinforce a feature-driven format designed to stack mechanics within single rounds.
