Mob Ross

Hacksaw Gaming built Mob Ross around a cartoon graffiti style set in an urban backdrop, which makes it a suitable pick for players who like street-art visuals. Its special symbols and features can trigger through regular spins, and some of them can also be purchased directly by players who want quicker access to the more rewarding parts of the game.

Gameplay Features and Bonuses

Mob Ross runs on a 5×5 grid with 19 paylines, an RTP of 96.32%, and high volatility, with a maximum win of 15,000x the total bet. The game has two cat symbols at its core, the standard Ross and the stronger Mob Ross, and both can expand into Wilds and pick up multipliers along the way.

Ross Symbols: A Ross symbol only expands when the expansion would complete at least 1 winning combination. Once it does, it stretches downward from where it landed to the bottom of the grid, and every position it covers counts as a Wild. A Ross symbol that does not expand still acts as a single Wild in its original position. Only 1 Ross or Mob Ross symbol can land on a reel at a time.

Mob Ross and the Chain Reaction: The Mob Ross follows the same rule for triggering, but its effect reaches much further. When it activates, it moves to the top of its reel and expands downward to cover the whole reel. The expanded Mob Ross reel then pulls any Ross symbols on the reels directly to its left and right into the action, as those symbols also move to the top and cover their entire reels. A single Mob Ross can therefore turn up to 3 full reels into Wilds on 1 spin.

Wild Multipliers: Regular Wild symbols on the grid serve as multiplier sources. If an expanding Ross or Mob Ross passes through a Wild, that Wild becomes a multiplier worth 2x, 3x, 4x, 5x, 6x, 7x, 8x, 9x, 10x, 15x, 20x, 25x, 50x, 100x, or 200x, and the value applies to the entire expanded symbol or reel. Several Wilds on the same expansion add their values into one total. The same additive rule applies when a winning combination includes more than 1 expanded reel with a multiplier.

Cat Calls: 3 FS Scatter symbols landing together in the base game award 10 Free Spins in Cat Calls. The base game mechanics stay in place, and Ross and Mob Ross symbols appear more often throughout the round.

Nine Lives: 4 FS Scatters trigger Nine Lives with 10 Free Spins. The round builds on Cat Calls with an activation system, in which any reel that receives a Ross or Mob Ross symbol becomes activated. An activated reel guarantees one of these symbols on every spin and stays active until the bonus ends, so the number of expanding reels can only grow as the round progresses.

Bigg Boss Ross: 5 FS Scatters unlock the Epic Bonus, Bigg Boss Ross, which also awards 10 Free Spins. It follows the Cat Calls mechanics and guarantees at least 2 Mob Ross symbols and 1 Wild on every spin, which means the chain reaction and a multiplier source are present each time.

Note: In each of the three bonus rounds, 2 additional FS symbols add 2 Free Spins and 3 add 4.

Bonus Buy: Six purchase options are available, and their volatility ratings range from high to extreme. The three FeatureSpins modes are charged per spin and change the odds of each base game spin.

• BonusHunt FeatureSpins (3x the bet per spin, extreme volatility): Bonus games are 5x more likely to trigger.
• Feisty FeatureSpins (60x the bet per spin, very high volatility): At least 3 Ross symbols land on every spin.
• Epic Drop FeatureSpins (1,000x the bet per spin, very high volatility): 5 Ross symbols and at least 3 Wilds land on every spin.

The remaining three options give direct entry into a bonus round.

• Cat Calls (100x the bet, very high volatility)
• Nine Lives (200x the bet, extreme volatility)
• Bigg Boss Ross (1,000x the bet, high volatility)

Design and Soundtrack

Neon green and pink graffiti covers the walls of the backstreet where Mob Ross takes place, and a cartoon cat stands beside the grid as the game's main character. The street-art style extends to the reels, where 10-A figures are drawn as graffiti tags next to bananas, fish skeletons, spray cans, dice, and 8 balls. The soundtrack keeps to the same urban tone and suits the overall design.

Hot Ross and Unleashed Chaos, two other Hacksaw Gaming titles, offer comparable settings and gameplay features for players who want to try something similar.

The Bottom Line

The Mob Ross chain reaction is what gives this slot its range, since one symbol can turn up to three full reels into Wilds, and any Wild in their path adds a multiplier of up to 200x. Nine Lives makes the most of this by locking activated reels for the entire round, whereas Bigg Boss Ross guarantees the chain and a multiplier source on every spin. High volatility and a 96.32% RTP fit a game with a 15,000x maximum win, although several buy options reach extreme volatility and cost up to 1,000x the bet.
