Circle of Sylvan

Circle of Sylvan, developed by Fantasma Games, transports players to a mythical forest where magic and mystery permeate the air. Set against a blurred, mystique-filled backdrop, the game's design attempts to weave together elements of folklore and fantasy.

Gameplay features and bonuses

Circle of Sylvan is an online slot developed by Fantasma Games. It features a distinctive grid layout of 5 reels with row formations of 3-3-4-4-5, encompassing a total of 720 paylines. The game boasts an attractive RTP rate of 96.38% and is characterized by medium volatility.

Jackpot Wheel: The game can land Sylvan Scatter symbols. These symbols increase the jackpot prize of the reel they land on. They are also collected when they land, which can trigger the Jackpot Wheel. The wheel awards one of the 5 Jackpots – Mini, Minor, Major, Mega, and Grants, where each can go up to 75x, 100x, 250x, 1,000x, and 5,000x the bet. After a jackpot has paid out, it resets to its initial value.

Free Spins: Achieving a sequence where 5 Bonus Scatters land on each reel to spell out BONUS initiates a Free Spins round with 3 initial spins. During this round, each Scatter transforms into a Money Scatter symbol, locking in place and carrying random values ranging from 0.2x to 20x the stake.

The round features a progressive multiplier for Free Spins, which can increase from 1x to 50x. The addition of Scatter symbols across four reels in the base game contributes a point to the Free Spins Multiplier meter. Accumulating two points enhances the multiplier by 1, and the meter is then reset. At the conclusion of the spins, the multiplier reverts to 1x.

Each spin during this phase can yield either monetary or blank symbols. Money symbols that land are held in position and reset the Free Spins count to 3, while blanks remain inert. Filling all slots on a reel with money symbols clears that reel, collects the cash prizes, and potentially allows new Money symbols to appear. Each cleared reel contributes a point to the multiplier meter. All collected cash prizes are added upon the round's completion, and the Free Spins Multiplier is applied to the total.

Jackpot Wheel: The slot introduces Sylvan Scatter symbols, which augment the jackpot prize of their respective reels upon landing. These symbols are also collected, potentially activating the Jackpot Wheel. This feature dispenses one of five progressive jackpots—Mini, Minor, Major, Mega, and Grants—escalating up to 75x, 100x, 250x, 1,000x, and 5,000x the stake, respectively. Following a payout, each jackpot resets to its base level.

Design and Soundtrack

Circle of Sylvan is set in a mythical forest, featuring a background that's intentionally blurred to add mystique. However, the overall design seems slightly disjointed and uninspired. Including a Tree of Life amid Sylvan tales is puzzling as traditional Sylvan myths do not commonly associate with the Tree of Life, though both are steeped in natural and mystical elements. The game includes a variety of animal symbols, such as an owl, an eagle, a wolf, and a bull, along with the four card suits. The soundtrack subtly enhances the mystical theme, weaving familiar tones that underscore the game's enchanted setting.

For those interested in exploring similar themes with added complexity, Bouncy Bombs by Hacksaw Gaming features a mythical theme enriched with jelly creatures in a forest setting.

The Bottom Line

Circle of Sylvan provides a range of gameplay features that will appeal to many players. With 720 paylines, a robust Jackpot Wheel, and engaging Free Spins rounds, the game balances complexity with the chance for substantial rewards. While the design and soundtrack may not resonate with everyone, the gameplay mechanics and potential for high multipliers make it a worthwhile experience for those seeking a slot game with depth and variety.
