Gameplay features and bonuses

Tarasque is a cluster-paying grid slot game set on an 8×8 gaming matrix. Wins are secured when at least five identical pay symbols connect horizontally or vertically. Winning clusters trigger the removal of symbols from the grid, thanks to the cascading mechanic. This creates space for new symbols to drop down, potentially creating new wins and reactivating the cascade feature. Boasting a medium-high volatility, Tarasque offers an RTP rate of 96.3%.

Morphing Cluster: Each spin selects one random symbol as the Morphing symbol. If this symbol matches with a winning cluster, the cluster morphs into an adjacent symbol, and the Morphing symbol transforms again. This cycle continues until no further matches occur between a cluster and the current Morphing symbol. The ‘Unleash' stage adds a twist: if the current Morphing symbol does not align with the next symbol due to be placed, it morphs into a different symbol.

Celestial Blessings: Wins from any cluster can be amplified with multipliers ranging from 2x to 20x.

Progressive Features: The game includes four Progressive Features displayed on a progress bar adjacent to the reels. At the start of each spin, these features are randomly ordered across the first five levels of the progress bar. The bar advances with each winning symbol, and reaching a new level highlights that level's feature.

When no more wins occur, the highlighted feature of the lowest active level triggers. Activation at higher levels enhances the feature's impact.

• Wild Spikes: Randomly places a varying number of Wilds on the grid, from 4 to 24, depending on the level.
• Blazing Gaze: Eliminates all low-paying symbols from the grid. At higher levels, this removal extends to subsequent cascades, potentially affecting up to five low-paying symbols.
• Mage's Morph: Places a random number of Morphing symbols on the grid. The quantity ranges from 6 to 45, increasing with the level.
• Bulking Beast: The Tarasque symbol expands in size with each win, growing from 2×1 to a maximum of 4×4, depending on the level.

The Tarasque: Acting as a Wild, the Tarasque is randomly placed on the grid upon the activation of the first Progressive Feature. In the ‘Devour' stage, it collects symbols from all winning clusters it is part of. Once no more wins or Progressive Features remain, the Tarasque enters the ‘Unleash' stage. This stage begins by randomly placing the collected symbols of the lowest value on the grid. The process repeats until no more wins are possible or symbols remain, concluding the feature.

Feature Bet: This option allows players to guarantee a specific number of Morphing symbols on the initial grid, ranging from 6 to 45. The cost varies from 3.5x to 221.7x the bet, with corresponding RTP adjustments from 96.46% to 96.89%.

Design and Soundtrack

Tarasque immerses players in a realm of myth, drawing inspiration from the legendary French creature of the same name. The game's design resembles an exquisite oil painting featuring a serene landscape and a distant castle glimpsed between cascading reels. Each lower-paying symbol, from clovers and snail shells to lemons and horseshoes, boasts a meticulously crafted, oil-painted appearance as well, while the high-value symbols depict medieval characters. Accompanying this visual feast is a soundtrack that complements the medieval setting, enhancing the immersive experience.

Fans of such historical themes will likely appreciate King Arthur 10k Ways by ReelPlay and Return of The Green Knight by Play'n GO, which also celebrates old-timey medieval designs.

The Bottom Line

Tarasque stands out in the realm of slots with its innovative features and captivating design. The Morphing Cluster and Progressive Features, including Wild Spikes and Mage's Morph, offer dynamic gameplay, while the Feature Bet options add strategic depth. The cascading mechanics and the Tarasque symbol bring an unpredictable thrill to each spin. With its artistic design and a well-crafted soundtrack, Tarasque is a must-play for enthusiasts seeking a blend of folklore, art, and engaging slot mechanics.
